Well after nearly 15 years of various M3’s and currently an F82 M4 and after a few test drives the M4 is going to be replaced with a new G42 M240. I know it’s not a ‘proper’ M car but I think point to point I would be quicker in the 240 than the M4, I was genuinely surprised by how rapid and surefooted it is. Will be sorry to see the M4 go as it’s been superb, but retired and not getting any younger and for once head is ruling the heart as came very close to moving to the new M2, anyway thanks for reading I’ll be over in the non M forum byebye

Having gone from a F80 Comp to the G42 M240, I don't really miss the 'real' M car. Whilst I found the S55 entertaining in terms of its characteristics, it was a bit of a handful at times. Even in freezing conditions i'm finding the xdrive unflappable. The one single thing that I wish the G42 had is a physical button for the heated seats!

Me too at the moment but both going for the new one, no commuting and business miles anymore so one ‘do it all’ car for me. I did seriously consider the AMG A45S too but it’s just a bit too much ‘in yer face’ for me, hell of a car though
