Surely less space for a dog than a 911?

The trunk of the Z4M is surprisingly practical, not what you can say about a 911 (the rear seats smaller than the trunk of the Z4)

I ignored these when they were new. Big fan these days. For me, I would probably get the roadster for the full experience, but coupes are lovely, too.

Loved these from new in 2006, sat in the showroom & realized I actually fit in it, as opposed to the Z3 Coupe.
8 years later I got my hands on a Z4M Coupe and it became great 9 years of ownership.
Never realized its a doggy car! (good luck getting the dog hairs out tho! biggrin )

My best value mods were CSL rims (no wonder) and Eibach Pro springs (later had KW V3 - great, but they we'rent worth their premium IMHO).

that s54 is a wonderful thing
im still not sure about the looks though - back is better than front
and would love some CSLs but like hens teeth they are innit and i dont fancy reps
interesting re the kwv3
mine is on the original dampers and springs and its done about 40k miles

H&R springs would be my goto, decent drop and ride near stock. I had KW V3s on my M Coupe, lovely kit but more aimed for track work imo.

Don't get csl wheels, it rides bad enough as it is.

Don't get lowering springs it rides bad enough as it is.

Do get KW coilovers then just enjoy one of the performance bargains.

Now CSLs cost what they do I really don't think they are worth it, and anyway there are so many Z4s on CSLs or Reps they're a bit too common for my liking. My came with 19" CSL Reps but I went back to a set of OE 224s to be different!

Mine also had H & R coil-overs fitted and they are very crashy on anything other than very smooth surfaces. If their lowering springs are anything like their coil-overs I'd give them a miss.

KWV3s are very popular although they come at a price. Quite a few people go with Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks, but I know a couple of owners didn't like the Eibachs, particularly on the front, and removed them.

Enjoy that S54 soundtrack. thumbup

back from service and all good no major issues
so im now thinking deeply about all things suspension related
i dont think the original dampers / springs are bad but i have nothing to compare to other than a wafty alpina and my gt3
ill see what chris at center gravity says
in the meantime, whats the views on a carbon intake?

A lot of people fit Eventuri or Gruppe-M carbon intakes and love the extra induction noise, and while they aren't cheap you can occasionally pick up a good used one. Because my car has non-standard back boxes I'll give them a miss so I don't have induction noise and exhaust noise competing.

If you want to go really nuts there is a Geoff Steel Racing full carbon intake right up to the manifold, although it requires a remap for best results. By the time you've done that and had it fitted you're heading towards £3K!

Here's a link to a thread on z4forum (which is well worth a visit) on the topic of M suspension options. https://z4-forum.com/threads/e85-m-views-please-on...

Certified non-owner there for sure, the main reason for Eibach Pro is the ride. See "Pro" is shortening for progressive - which the OEM springs aren't. Better looks is a slight bonus.

If your looking at tuning have a chat with Ray at West tuning (Thruxton), he builds race M3 engines and knows them inside out (and you won’t get any bullsh*t!)
