After owning an X5M and now in a X6 M50i I’ve had 6 yrs of performance SUVs.

The M3 touring gets rave reviews while noting the level of discounting in place.

Interested to hear if anyone else has done a similar step and their thoughts.

I went from an X5 M50i to an M3 Touring and back to an X5.

I loved the idea of an M3 Touring, and the looks of the actual car, but never really used its potential and got annoyed about many of the things that was supposed to make it a sports car: the stiff suspension, the road noise, the engine sound of the S58 (I also had 2 X3M so should have known) which is more industrial than melodious, and the killer was the low ground clearance (I need it to go down an agricultural road every weekend).

In contrast I love the air suspension of the M50i, its effortless torque and feel good factor, but I guess it is all about use scenario. For me the M3 Touring as a concept was perfect, in reality I was better off with an X5 (but really miss my F90 M5 the most).

I have to comment here I nearly sold my 2023 F90 M5 Ultimate at the weekend for a 2025 M440i Gran coup, I had a bad night sleep and pulled out.......................Never letting this go it's almost a collectors item.

This is my fear, on paper sounds great but in reality it may fall flat for what I need.

No experience of the X5 or X6 but I daily an M4, I do sometimes think it's way more car than I need and if i'm being honest a 540i or 440i GC would be better suited to my needs but I do love the M4 and wouldn't be without it, its definitely a heart over head choice owning an M car

I sold my M3cs to make way for my Alpine. No regrets but I will get another cs one day, loved it so much.
