Hi All - as per the title really...I haven't bought a car yet so really just investigating. But I really hate cars that buzz the steering wheel or try to correct my lane position etc. I know there's a 'Safety button' in the centre of the dash, and you can push it to go to the safety/assistance menu. And from there you can disable things etc and save things as individual. The cars I'm looking at are 2021/2022 so before the ISA EU stuff where it has to be disabled every time you start. Thank goodness!

A couple of questions if I may to anyone that might have a Beemer with this option in it...particularly a G80/82/83:

1. Can you turn it all off? I mean really off? I watched a video from the US where the guy disabled, for example, the lane keep assist. But then went on to say that while it won't now correct the steering, it will still vibrate the wheel if it thinks you're straying! Is there a way to stop it even doing that?

2. Once you've saved your settings to Individual, will it remember all those settings and next journey/start come back as you left it? Or do you have to set it up every time?

I really hate all this nannie stuff. But I do like the idea of the automated driving in low speed motorway traffic jams and stuff, so I have been looking at car adverts with the Tech Plus pack. But I want to be able to turn all the other stuff (lane keep, collision warning, evasion assistant etc) off. My wife's Audi has all that collision warning stuff, and in rural England anyway we've found it to be borderline dangerous when it suddenly jams the brakes on or flashes red lights at you just because you're driving down a narrow lane and it sees some flowers sticking out...stupid!

Thanks,
J.
