Evening all
I removed my steering wheel before disconnecting the battery and now the light is on in the dash.
I thought I had damaged the airbag but have fitted a new on and it’s still on.
Is there a fuse that might have blown somewhere??
Thanks

You had an SRS scan tool on it to check for codes. Why was the wheel off, possible slip ring damaged on re-install?

When I owned an E36 M3 (which I believe shares a lot of the same electrics), once you triggered the airbag light, it could only be got rid off by resetting it with INSPA plugged into a diagnostic lead. It wasn't just a matter of fixing the issue.

I often used to trigger it with a loose connection when I moved the passenger seat and then I would have to go and plug it in to reset the light.

It's covered in the thread here towards the bottom of the thread.

I would agree with Steven, will need to be reset through one of the BMW tools.

Skoda's are the same, once the light is triggered, needs to be reset through the OBD2 port.
