M2C BMW extended warranty cost
Discussion
Has anyone recently (ish!) paid for an extended BMW warranty on their M2C?
Preferably non-lapsed eg after standard 3yr or AUC warranty has finished.
Picked a few regs from AT but don’t know if the quotes are because the warranty has lapsed (£1590 / £250 excess for Comprehensive).
Thanks.

In all honesty when unmodified they are pretty reliable
I think the general consensus at that price point is that over all it could be better to put that 1600 aside each year as a reserve for any issues.
When you look at the earlier 2018 m2cs which are out of warranty now there is no huge influx of issues or problems that arise, no major reports of people taking out extended warranties having to get major engine/transmission work sorted on standard cars.
Of course a risk always there but personally I would rather that money aside each year on the off chance something did

Thanks, it kind of depends on the price of the warranty hence my original question. I was expecting/hoping more like a sub £1k figure. I think the general consensus at that price point is that over all it could be better to put that 1600 aside each year as a reserve for any issues.

I took out the extended warranty in August (3 year point) and although prices may have gone up since, I went for Comprehensive with Roadside Assist & £250 excess which was £875 (single payment rather than monthly) and seemed to be about what others had paid. DonRustone said:

Thanks Don, seems about what I thought/hoped for a non-lapsed price.
You probably already know this, but the lapsed price is a one off, it's not that much every year. Once you've paid that price this year it will drop down to £875 odd next year and for subsequent years, subject to mileage being under 60k and any price increases of course.Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
