Just follow up really, OG M2, I posted something a while back about coilovers ended up with Msport adjustable set up - a huge improvement. I tried ContiSport 7's on rear. They have fantastic grip, in fact even in the wet you have to be a real hooligan to unstick them, though that is not something I attempt too often. However the price you pay for that grip is the wear rate - down to less than 4mm after 3000 miles on the road so in reality probably more expensive than PS4S.

MPSS and Cup2.
The former lasted 15k on the rear with road use. The fronts are still on 6mm at 27k.
Cup2 on the rear did surprisingly well for being driven through a UK winter. Just needed to wait until the tyre pressure monitor said they were warm before being anything less than smooth with the throttle. Still over 3mm after 6k.
I did think about fitting CS7 or MP4S to the rear for this winter, but decided to stick with MPSS as a known quantity.

Just swapped some original fitment MPSS on my 2016 M2. Just ticked over 42200 miles.
Replaced with some Conti SC7's as they had a decent review, but I never spotted any comments about wear rate being an issue. Just couldn't justify the uplift for replacement MPSS or something else.
Will monitor the wear closely now.

It was both the fronts and the rears. I swapped out the rears earlier in the year, say around 40k miles, and have got another couple of thousand on the fronts. Helpfully I knicked the edge of one of the fronts on a kerb getting out of the way of an emergency vehicle, and the MOT guy flagged it next to inside edge wear.That being said, I can certainly feel the difference with these new SC7s, and the garage that fitted them we quite keen to point out that I was due some new front boots.
Just an update really. The CS7’s on the rear are finished after just 4000 miles. They are worn evenly but that’s pretty brutal considering it’s road driving only. Phenomenal grip though but it seems you definitely pay for it. I’m fitting Maxxis VS5’s which I’ve used previously - much better than Michelin SS especially in the wet. They recently did well in another Evo test so they are certainly not ditch finders. I’ll see they go but they were great on an M140, easily a match for PS 4. Anyway I’m going down the 987 Gen2 Cayman route soon so starting to eye classifieds.

Thats a seriously heavy wear rate!I'd MPSS on our M140i from new, and went MPS4 which seemed to be a better all rounder.
Just fitted MPS4S to the rear of my M2 and i'd be expecting maybe 7-9K miles out of them.
The Contis are notably cheaper but that deems to be very much offset and more by increased wear rate.

Woah, I was thinking of switching to CS7 but 4K miles, although thats 1 set a year for me as I don't do much miles. Currently run PS4S from October to May and throw the Cup2 on for the summer and track days but was thinking to just go for CS7 as a middle ground, but if 4K miles for road driving only is murdering the CS7 then adding track miles I am really not sure them lasting very long.
I’ve gone for 275 on back for no other reason than they are slightly cheaper and more available than 265. No issues - really don’t think the M2 lacks front end grip. For those on standard suspension the MP coilovers are just a massive improvement in compliance and control, I HATED the standard set up.

Don't have a M2 but thats my thoughts with MPSS ie things have really moved on since they came out , I found them pretty dodgy on cold or wet roads in my 235i. PS4 or PS4s , Conti 7's, Goodyear ASSY 6 or even P zeros are all a step up imo

The MPSS never really impressed me on the M140i, went to MPS4, thought it was a big step up.
MPS4S now on the M2, but interestingly RE: your comment on the P Zeros, when i got the car there was a full set of brand new P Zeros just fitted and i thought they were really very good. I took those wheels and tyres off when i changed the rims to 763Ms, but i did like the P Zeros.
Its not a tyre i hear people talk about much.

I had MPSS on rear when I bought the car. Even in the dry the there were traction issues. My old 140 was much better on the VS5’s particularly in the wet.PS4 or PS4s , Conti 7's, Goodyear ASSY 6 or even P zeros are all a step up imo
