M4 Questions...
Discussion
I've looked at 2 M4C's over the last 2 days.
I'd appreciate it is any BM's can answer a couple of questions for me, as I've held off until I find out from those more informed if I'm about to make an error.
Both cars AUC with full BMW AUC warranty. Both MY2019.
One , however, has missed a major service by 4.5k miles (it's on 32k). The dealer has done the major and the (brilliant) Sales guy told me BMW will honour the Warranty. (I checked it's definitely BMW and not dealer Warranty). There's also the option of extended BMW warranty of 3 years for £1399 which on an M car is a no brainer.
Decent option list. HK, Camera, HUD and Icon. £35.4k plus 3yr warranty £1399.
Basically the red flag was the missed Major service. It has also missed / been late on a brake fluid and filter service in the past.
The second one I looked at today, I almost went back and paid the deposit. My only issue is that the RIS was done at 186 miles., so the PDI shows 08 miles, then RIS 186, then first @6.2k. It's been obviously enthusiast owned, individual paint, low miles and just like it came out of the showroom. Every service showing as done, on time and all the Idrive stuff is nice and green.
Again, decent option list Camera, HK, HUD, but no Icon. £38.2k plus 3 yr warranty @1399.
Not much (if any) wriggle room on the price. I'd like to ask if 186 miles is too early for an RIS?.(better early than late or not at all though).
FWIW both Dealerships were brilliant. Very helpful and happy to run the figures for me.
TIA Gents.

If looking at 2019, would suggest trying to find one with Ultimate Pack.
Lots around as was offered when they started to run the car out, and was pretty reasonable to get all options specced.
I personally think the Icon lights make the car look much better (mine is 2019 M4C with UP), but get that's subjective.
Warranty extension is very good value. I think I paid £1.2K to renew mine for a year, so that's an incredible price for 3 years. Might be worth asking that dealer if that's a BMW wide offer.

Thanks for the reply and yep, that's a certified effective 4 year BMW warranty on an M car for £1399 (1 year AUC plus 3 year BMW) absolute no brainer as a simple 02 Sensor probably comes in for half that. I'd love a UP option, but the one I might put the deposit on tomorrow is individual paint plus a few more options.
just concerned abput the low 186 mile RIS .
I'd personally go for an older model. I have a December 2018 M4(granted not the CP), but because of the OPFs it sounds so quiet and held back if you know what I mean to me.
So for me I'd be looking at an early 2018 model, or even better still a 2017 model, and that way you won't get a semi skimmed model noise wise I reckon.
Obviously if noise/character doesn't bother you, then the later cars are fine to be fair for sure though.

Does the dealer know why it was done early?
I asked and there was a silence.Well I was told anytime prior to 1300 is a good idea.I am ignorant in these matters, so as such I am respecting the better knowledge of the forum members.
Visually it is like a brand new car.The previous owner was an enthusiast, as everything else on the Service History is on, or before due date

I'd be a bit nervous buying an M car with the running in service done that early, but that is just my personal take on it though.
Thanks Lee and I always appreciate and respect your opinion as your car history is pretty damn impressive. I'm not worried about the noise, but a CP has always been on my list. It's just that this is a once in a lifetime dream car purchase for me so I want to get it right.I am nervous. that is super early. Had it been 1k then I'd have slapped a deposit down and told the wife after I'd forced half a bottle of prosecco down her neck. Or Cava, whichever is cheaper.but 186 miles??. Hmmm.

I would dodge both. The oil in the car when new is different to what’s put in at the running in service AFAIAA.
Th engine is supposed to wear in and changing it 1000 miles early when it’s supposed to be before 1200 miles seems poor to me.
There are loads around, I wouldn’t compromise.

Although on 26k any issues might have already presented themselves,, and with a 4 year warranty for the sake of 1400 quid , I think it should be OK.
However, it is very early, and no idea why,
Yes could have been time based if the RIS was done in 2021.
I wouldn't compromise on RIS servicing. You will get bid in the balls when you come to sell if the servicing is not done in line with BMW.

That's amazing! Are you sure that's the one year AUC warranty plus another three years, as opposed to the AUC warranty extended to a total of three years? Either way it's a good deal but £1,399 to have a warranty for a total of four years is fantastic. I'd ruled out an M4, partly because of the cost of extending the warranty, but I'm tempted to reconsider if that kind of deal might be on the table.MitchT said:

I was informed that at the time of sale, I have the option for the AUC Warranty to continue for a further 3 years once the original one has expried, so effectively a 4 year warranty. I think (might be wrong on the first two figures) it is £799 for one year, £1099 for two and £1399 for three. All on top of the 1 year AUC and it can be added to the finance if needed.(13.5% atm.)It is brilliant value and another reason why I'm looking at an AUC car again. There also seems to be some more entering the s/h market , so I'm happy to hang on until the right one comes along.
