I had my beloved E36 M3 stolen back in 2017. It wasn’t found until I’d been payed out by the insurance so it ended up in copart. I’d already bought another car so couldn’t afford to buy it back from them.
It did sell but hasn’t been taxed since.
I’ve always wondered what happened to it, probably parted out but I’d love to think somebody’s doing a long term resto on it and it’ll live again one day.

Not necessarily. According to Carbaba there was a history of a plate change. If you are really wanting to know, go to https://www.carbaba.co.uk/ and pay for the detailed information, I think it's about £10.

The plate change took place in 2000 and there hasn’t been one since so looks like it’s still on its original if it still exists. Interestingly, there was a change of keeper in 2020 which is about 3 years after copart sold it.
