Was taking out for a drive in a new, lightly tuned (650 bhp) M3 Comp. Extraordinary speed and handling. Felt way quicker than an M2 Comp. The thing took off in a way rubber wasn't supposed to grip tarmac. Also had the 5k option carbon seats which were lovely but not that comfortable. Time to check the bank balance... .

Just ordered one myself after a friend of mine unexpectedly died. Thought f888 it, no point having money in the bank and not enjoying it.

Picking mine up next Wednesday, was delayed a couple of weeks.

The dealer has given me their demonstrator until it arrives, lots of fun but a bit bright for me, mine is inBrooklyn Grey.

I saw one this colour today on the M6 in the lakes, stood out an absolute mile off. Maybe it was you??

That's 4WD for you. My M5 was similar power from the factory and was certifiable.

That's the M3 4WD you mean. I've owned similar bhp 4WD cars that span their wheels with that much power. The M3 simply took off.

As per my recent thread I recently had use of a G82 M4 competition Xdrive and the levels of grip it had was unbelievable. Just put your foot down and it just goes, same for its cornering ability. Incredible, if lacking in feel.

I did expect it to feel a bit dull for its performance before trying it (I felt that way about the 4.4 M6 - very fast but a bit dull), but it wasn't, it was a genuinely exciting car to chuck around, I really grew to like it, and made my E90 M3 feel positively slow biggrin

Sorry, not me. I’m down South, the only motorway I’ve been on in the last two weeks is the M4.

And to be honest that spec looks horrific. Hope you are wearing shades and a baseball cap (back to front)

What makes the Xdrive system so effective? I'm aware an element is big fat rear tyres lol.

What I love about the M xDrive system is that you can decouple the front axle and have it RWD only as well. smokin

That was demonstrated to me on my M3 Comp test drive. Felt just as quick (dry roads)!

I'm not sure, I can't confess to have driven a RWD-only car (nor did I switch this to RWD). But even my paltry 420bhp can get lively in the damp.

No, although the outfit has been suggested smile.
I’m very grateful to have been offered the car but I will be very, very glad to get into something less visually vibrant when mine arrives.
