Having owned a 2019 Competition from new, I spent a few months trying to find a suitable replacement and driving most other new cars at the price point...
For the first time ever in 30 years of serial car purchasing I've ended up buying another of the same car model - 2023 M5 Competition with biggrin

Looks great! I would assume it drives pretty brilliant too!

Hi John I'm on my 4th F90, probably my last as I am 75 this year, BUT what can I replace it with????, nothing comes close.

Fully sympathise with that position. Ever since I got rid of my M5C I have wanted one again.

Enjoy it.

Do you notice any substantial differences between the pre and post facelift - particularly ride?

I found the ride better and the transmission fantastic. Downside is exhaust note a lot worse, only one option in setup for M sport head up display to be on which is a real pain and in cruise control it defaults to full safety setting modes with lane departure and default displays. Ridiculous.

So dynamically better but a lot less set up options (despite what it seems) and no on/off option for exhaust pops and bangs (which tbf I rarely used)

Was the old one before GPF? Notice the sound difference?

My M5C was about the same hp at SRR. Insane really for a 'fast" saloon! [edit - 659.2 spin]

Congratulations!

Having owned my 2019 F90 since new, I was faced with the same "problem" last year and decided just to stick with what I have.......and I can't see that changing until maybe the next generation of M5 is released......

Which sounds perfect to be honest, a bit more compliance in the ride and a bit less noise from the exhaust is ideal.

No idea, but BMW can detect on the turbo M's if the ecu has ever been tuned. Not something they could do on pre turbo M ECUs.

I’ve got a feeling this is quite common, I did exactly the same. Had a 992 GTS but didn’t really gel
With it, so went straight back to an F90.

It’s like coming home
