Anyone had an M4 Comp drivers seat cover replaced by BMW?

The right hand side seat bolster on mine is worn, as most do, and has been agreed as a warranty claim.

BMW are saying the fit may not be great if they replace it as they reckon they can't stretch it as tight as the factory...!!

Anyone had theirs changed and can comment what the fit was like. I'm thinking it'll be fine and BMW are trying to cover themselves?

Any experience / comments appreciated.

Thanks

:-)

Be worth confirming with them who will be doing the work.

Maybe they are concerned that the manufacturer solution might be to send the seat cover to them, and expect the dealership to "have a go" at the job.

Their team are more used to doing fluid changes, and brake replacements, rather than trimming seats.

Maybe work contacting a highly regarded professional auto upholsterer, and seeing whether BMW could be persuaded to use them for the work.

It should be as good as new. I used to be a main dealer tech and had no problem changing seat covers.

Hi, I’ve had my drivers seat, top section of the seat replaced twice during the warranty period on my M4 comp as it had split at the stitching. All work carried by my local BMW dealer and it was a perfect job each time.
