Sealed Key Replacement
Discussion
Hi everyone....I did try and search for a previous post that would cover this....the dreaded sealed key for the E63/E64.
Both of my keys are now triggering a dash warning for low battery key, so I need to either buy replacements or seek an alternate solution. I understnd that the keys are recharged when in the ingition; which is great if the car is being driven as a daily, but as a 'garage queen' that is impractical.
Is there an alternate non-sealed key that does the job, or a remote charger, that you can plug in indoors to trickle charge the things ?

Not saying it will work but, you could always try an electric toothbrush charger or wireless phone charger.
I'm going to give it a go; thanks.I see on youtube that they suggest just driving the car; but not sure tht gives enough time; with the miles I am doing. They also suggest induction chargers; such as tooth brushes, iphone induction chargers and iWatch stations....I will give them a go and see what happens. It cannot hurt and may save some money (on new keys)
No idea what a key for your model looks like however I had the same problem with my e92, my battery is soldered on the inside via a small bracket.
Bought a kit like this and it works perfectly.
