I own f10 m5 stage 2 which I have tuned myself to around 750 bhp however car is uncontrollable most times and ruins the fun

Whilst I do drifting as hobby and like it tail happy, however at times it becomes too much as you can't even come off a corner on street without tail sliding

I drive with mdm mode or all traction off as full traction is annoying

I am considering the new f90 however know even though they are 4wd , the bias is toward back around 80 back 20 front. Is car planted to put your foot down?

I made a mistake of buying sport cup 2 and unless it is dead warm which hardly happens in uk, car is not drivAble even in 3 rd gear over 80miles tail happy

I am considering putting pilot sport 4s back in as sport cup is a disaster in rain or even cold whether

Either that as last ditch try or just buy f90 m5

Does anyone have f90 and what do you think?

Afaik the latest M5 is RWD until the car detects slip then it engages 4WD. I had one and it was an absolute animal.

You can of course run it RWD only if you are mental.

I raced my distance mate f90 on straight line rolling and left his competition standard by 6 cars so f10 is an animal

I guess if his was also stage 2 then probably left me or head to head

He can only drive in straight line and scared so don't really know if car is planted in corner

The F90 has massively better traction than the F10. I found the standard F10 undriveable most of the time the traction control was working constantly, it was almost impossible to get enough traction and was embarrassing at traffic light GP's, being left standing by a Golf GTi or similar unless the road was bone dry and a reasonable temperature. Even the E60 was way better. By comparison, the F90 is brilliant and the handling is excellent, in particular the turn in.

I've not actually tracked it so couldn't honestly say how good it is, but pushing it on ordinary roads feels absolutely fine, not something I ever felt I could do in the F10. I hate to think what it must be like with 750hp yikes

why do you think it is a wind up?

have you driven one of the f10s with traction off?

lol I've had two F10 M5's both LCI and 4 F90 M5's my latest the Ultimate edition , free to run 190MPH , there is not an F10 with any tune getting in front of me unless on a dry WARM day on a roll and RUNNING HUGE POWER.
THE F90 EATS THEM.

Happy to meet at vmax next round and try rolling , maybe those you have raced can’t get power down and driving with full traction which probably is slower than 530i

If yours is stage2 then probably leave me however standard or comp, I will leave you if we do rolling

What's important to you, smoking f90's or being able to use your car!

I never understand why people change, is it colour or just fed up? Had my m5 f10 for a while and don’t really change it unless i am upgrading

If I get f90 then won’t change

100% this.

I had 2 LCI F10 M5's & the second was also Stage 2 (DMS tune to just shy of 750bhp).

Whilst the tuned F10 was fun, as per the O/P remarks, it was difficult to enjoy, other than in the height of Summer & anything less than warm or dry, it would be driven like a regular model 5 Series.

The F90 LCI Comp is another level of performance & is considerably quicker & more dynamic than my F10 ever was. To the point where even consideration of any performance upgrade to my F90 would be stupid, as faster isn't something it needs.

As for RWD only mode in the F90, i've tried this once, on track at Donington & needless to say my forward motion didn't last, as on the 2nd lap i spun coming out of Melbourne Loop. Decision made that RWD only is for show or complete lunatics, as to engage this mode you have to turn EVERY safety feature off.

I have owned and tracked all the M5s from E39 to the F90 - and have tracked and raced all sorts of other road cars and race cars.

I drove a stock F90, and one that was mapped to 800hp.. sorry no video of those as they weren't my cars....

MY last two F10s were both stock and can be seen here.

F10 Comp pack

F10

Both a little lively with all the driver aids off, and you have to be a little careful with the throttle... The Comp Pack is a big improvement in handling and noise over the non-CP which has a lot more turn in understeer...the Ceramic brakes on the CP were a big improvement but not infallible.

The F90 is all together a different beast. In 4WD mode, even with 800 hp it is vastly capable, safe, slightly understeering set up, MUCH less of a hooligan. Adjustable on the throttle, but MUCH more stable than the F10. My mate wouldnt let me try it in RWD only mode..but I suspect it would be a bit of a handful with 800 HP.

With $WD obviously it has amazing traction, and you can be a lot more aggressive with the throttle. It's a really impressive car on track and MUCH easier to get a good lap out of.

On the road, the F90 would be worlds faster thanks to its traction and idiot proof handling.

Both amazing cars, but if you are lucky enough to have the budget for the F90...it is a no brainer.

I just bought my third F10...but that's only because my budget won't stretch to the F90.

Just my 2c. (and apologies for the background radio and crap chat on the videos...hope you enjoy them despite that)

Read your own words, you say you have tuned a car yourself to the point you can't control it or enjoy it. Why?????? Good job rolleyes

Maybe de-tune the car and keep traction control on.

Often you can alter the map for lower torque in the lower gears
