I think I know the answer to this question, and I think I know what everyone will say, so this is more of a sanity check than anything....

I have a 24k mile, 2018 F80 M3 that is coming out of warranty shortly.

Cost for another 12m extension through BMW is £875 including roadside assistance, comprehensive cover (unfortunately, tax is due at the same time, so potentially goodbye to nearly £1400, mofos)

Worth it or not?

You can always pay monthly which does cost abit more I think. If your doing moon miles daily then go for but then again if you do 5 miles things can go belly up.
If your are keeping it for afew years I would get it, but I drive an M6 V10.....

For me not. I have a December 2018 F82 M4 with 19k miles on it and I'm not bothering with it(the AUC warranty wouldn't even refurbish my wheels that had corroded to be fair). However I'm sure that knowing my luck...both turbos will blow up and the engine will go bang within the next 2 months I reckon!

It's a tricky decision Lee. I nearly didn't renew but I am still concerned about the big stuff (engine, box, diff) so went for the named components at £660 with £250 excess.

The wheel thing is annoying. I got mine done in shadow chrome for £300 recently.

Yes Nick and I do keep wondering if I'm doing the right thing by not extending it. Cheers regards the wheels, and that did disappoint me, but as you mention it is an easy enough fix if I want to do it though.

I have a 2016 M3 Comp, do about 4-5k miles per year.

I stoped renewing a year ago- these cars are fairly bullet proof (if you let it warm up properly).

I believe there is a saving to keeping a car in warranty ... £800 v. £1200 if renewing outside of warranty ?

I didn't own the car when I was trying to check this so the numbers may be awry ...

I will have this dilemma in October, on a 70k mile 2014. What happened to me recently was this, took the car to dealer to get them to check something on the heater....turned out to be okay, but as the main dealers are looking out for work......we noticed one of your front shock absorbers had a slight leak, we’ve been in touch with bmw and we will replace both fronts for you......would not have liked to pay for that

Yep. In the end I went for major component rather than comprehensive, with no price limit, as BMW dealers will pretty quickly eat up the 5k limit.
