Hi, I'm debating getting an Akrapovic exhaust for my M2 Comp.
I know it's a bit pricey but love the brand.
Has anyone else had this set up?

Also do I need the Akrapovic Sound kit with the Slip-on version? I'm confused if the stock Sport/Sport+ button will still work.

I just want it to be quiet when I need it to be.

Hi there

I have the slip-on on mine. Sport and sport+ still work. Can still be quiet.
I don't have that sound kit thing. Think that comes with the mid section or you can just buy it.

If you want to fit a new exhaust to the M2 comp to improve the sound, the only real option is one that includes an equal length midpipe. Any other exhaust, Akrapovic included, will only make the horrible stock exhaust note louder

Not keen on the air ride!

Of the different slip on exhausts I've always thought the Akra sounded the best. Its all subjective though.

Nice thanks, the Akrapovic looks amazing, but the air lift slam look is terrible!

Interesting, thanks for commenting. Always wondered why the S55 sounded st compared to all the N/A lumps when the N55s sound relatively good, good to know what i'm shopping for.

The reason is the S55 is twin turbo while the N55 is single turbo. So the S55 is a true dual pipe exhaust, but because of the layout of the engine, there's a difference in length of about a foot between the two downpipes, so it effectively sounds like two 3 cylinder engines rather than one 6 cylinder engine.

An equal length midpipe adds length to the shorter pipe and attempts to even out the two lengths. It does make a big difference to the tone but it's still doesn't sound as good as the single pipe N55

I think there are single mid-pipe options available for the M2C from the likes of AA etc, but no experience of them and even less idea whether they (can) equalise the pulse phasing… I’m actually quite fond of the slightly off beat noise mine makes but do, increasingly, find myself looking at what’s out there

Remus imo sounds very similar to the Akra and it’s half the price. I have one fitted to my current Comp (res delete OPF back) it’ll never sound as good as my OG M2 with Remus but it’s certainly much improved .

Is it the ‘race’ version with the two cylindrical canisters or is it the street one with one large canister. I find the options on Remus a bit baffling (sorry hehe)

It’s the race version with the 2 hollow cylindrical cans with the res delete section, I picked mine up secondhand for £1450 so they are out there. From memory the OE section was some 40+kgs and the Remus was 19kgs.
