M2C Tyre choice
Discussion
Looks like a slow puncture means replacing tyres.
As much as I love the Michelin Pilot Super Sports I’ve found in greasy or wet conditions they’re easily overwhelmed. In the summer they’re brilliant but for the 95% of the year when it isn’t over 15°C and dry its a bit sketchy (or my opposite lock skills inadequate).
Anyone using Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S’s?
I’m in two minds about changing over but my sensible head says swapping to MP4S means I’d enjoy using the car more of the time.
Any advice greatly received
Cheers!

Not entirely related but kind of is.

The wet track performance difference made me think, yup that's the one for me.

Out of interest are you changing just rears or all 4?
A few weeks ago I changed rears from mpss to ps4s thinking i will change the fronts when the time comes.
It made the whole car feel like jelly. At speed any direction change felt like the car took two bites to settle. (Similar feeling to tramline or a windy day but constantly).
I have also gone up a size to 255 front 275 rear.
Hopefully changing the fronts tomorrow will be back to feeling stable as it did before, otherwise i will be back for a full set of mpss.

I had mixed sets for a few months - PS4S on rear axle and PSS on front axle and didn't experience what you have described. A few weeks ago I changed rears from mpss to ps4s thinking i will change the fronts when the time comes.

However, upon putting PS4S on the front axle recently (compared to worn PSS) the wet grip is much better and more confidence inspiring on, say, a wet motorway, although that could just be the additional tread depth.
