I see the cars seem to be managing to hold around the mid/high £50s. Wonder how long till they take a drop? My mate reckons there’s a load of lease ones coming back by early next year, wonder if they will take a slide at that stage?

They went out on 48 month deals last year so not sure what your mate is alluding to, at the moment retail on used is around the same as I paid for new back in Dec 2019, last trade offer I had was 52k which they are retailing for 58-60k.

Not many sold, not many for sale market is high at the moment, but no one knows what will happen but there isn't a glut of them only around 700 sold in the UK there are 15 in the AUC network from 56k-67k.

They will of course lose money but no bargains at the mo.

I dont know the exact details, but mate was thinking of trading his M4 in for one as the kids were being kids and annoying him with trying to climb through the seats etc.

And it was nt much difference to buy a new one.

Silly i know and ive no use for X3M or X4M but my mind would be at ease if i had it from new and some loon hadnt spent 5000 miles gunning it about.

How do you find the car to live with? The likes of Evo didn’t give it a great report, mind you they didn’t like the early M4 much either and I loved mine!

It's all down to personal opinion, some reviews rate them some don't, I like the car but I like firm cars that have a sharp feeling which the X3M has, the engine is one to rev out rather than one that pulls from low down which some would say was at odds with the car, it's like a jacked up M3 if that's your thing.

It's very stiff though but at speed it's fine but don't expect a decent low speed ride, it's different and has a personally certainly not a normal SUV which I like in a sea of bland cars these days, it has character.

I concur with you, I am on 20" and the ride is borderline at low speed but perfectly fine outside of town, including B roads (the Joe Achilles review was a farce). The relative lack of low rev torque is quite at odds with a heavy SUV/SAV and if you come from a 3 litre turbodiesel, it is quite the change to have to rev out the engine to make progress in a 500+ bhp car.

I also like mine, it is extremely well put together (no rattles, very refined at speed) and of course very practical, yet not a huge barge (like the X5).

After a test drive last year or so, the Lack of torque put me off, the F90 m5 I have must have influenced that, ride was ok out of town.

Thanks guys, I’m Ok with harder riding cars but it’s bizarre And a little disappointing how a 500bhp twin turbo has a lack of torque?

It has plenty of torque from 2.6k onwards just not below.

They are an interesting car, i was close to purchasing one on the 2.9% apr deal on used ones, went for a test drive and it was ok it is a very nice car but when i thought if it was nice enough for £12k down and £550pm i wasn't convinced.

i also suspect they have been a bit of a flop, in my area it is a wash with cayennes, Macans, GLC43/63 and RRS SVR's but yet i haven't seen a single X3m on the road. i have actually seen more RSQ3 and a couple of DBX's which are both newer out and either similar price or much more expensive.

I think they have only sold around 800 since launch, I haven't seen another either.

which is strange when they have had really good deals on new ones and recently used ones, Insurance isn't massive on them. i think my problem is i test drove a glc63s before the X3m, the interior not as good as the x3 but my god that engine and noise. the other issue i found was the £2k insurance quotes for the 63s

Unless you really are limited to one car I really struggle to see the point of these.
Good all rounder I guess but you're not going to get up early on a Sunday to go for blast in it and it's a bit nice to take to the tip.

Yea, kind of getting to that place myself. Just buy a 4.0D MSport and trouser the other £20K!

I thought the £599/£599 deals were on stock X3Ms they needed to shift. They weren't selling so flog what they've got cheap therefore I wouldn't expect them to be that common because they weren't selling the first place and didn't sell that well now those stock cars and deal has dried up.

I actually do take it for blasts in the Yorkshire Dales and the tip, for me it's a perfect compromise as a one car solution, but of course that's just me.
