M3 e9x s65 engine lambda plugs which is what, Swap engine
Discussion
dear readers, I own a project car which is finished, but one thing never was right, not even with the tuner and or other testers, some said (testers for MOT) the lambda valuations are not correct?
in my car with engine swap, they (the builders) deleted a lot sensors and other things, they thought this car would not need, also a lot wires etc.
I only have 2 lambda sensors, only the front 2 (not the 2 after the katalysators)
already changed for new lambdas twice a while ago, same result, although the car/engine runs fine, its a bit rich, but better a bit to rich then to lean.
last week we checked the wires on the lambda plugs, because 1 was changed when they build the car, because of 1 security clip from one plug was broken of, but it seems they put the right wires in the right connection at the exhaust/katt.
So...because so much was changed, you can't hang it on a standard BMW reader, also have a stand alone system...
Now the question, the checker from last week saw a unused plug under the big alu air-collector, also with 6 or 7 pins, so he thought it could be related to the lambdas...but then, 2 are not fitted so that unused plu can be one of those?
So some pictures...the first one is from my car, you see the plug I mean, res circle around it.

the next 2 pictures are example pictures, same sort engine with all plugs connected, what is that connection for (see red circle) is it for a lambda sensor? ifso fronts or rears? (rears I don not have)
maybe they just forgot to put the connection and one (right bank) has a no working lambda and thats why the difference seen or noticed on a screen at some test MOT garage?

and I saw a little red plug on the other side, but I guess thats for no use on my car.

and yes I could get that big collector of, but its not to easy to get to the hose-clamps on my special made collector...it can be done, but, first asking what that connection is for, a loose end for my car (not needed) or the key for a working front lambda sensor :-)
so...if you know what those connections are under the collector, please write/tell me here, thanks.

Thanks for the fast respons Elliot2000
, that could indeed be it, I do not use such not on my project car, 'sadly' all had to go, because the standard box did just not fit under the bonnet, just a bit to high and we wanted not a lowered subframe, so I opted for a power bulge...but the builder did not liked that and said, it would spoil the original Z3 look...and he had lots idea's to make it all work...well, I spare you the details what it cost to let that all work ;-)
But, then I'm in no hurry to lift that aircollector, do you have any idea were those lambda sensor wires go too? is that direct to the stand alone system,?
