Guys, I’ve searched and searched, but I can’t find where the TPMS control unit (or RDC Antenna as it’s called) is located on the wife’s M4. Any help out there?

I don't think you have searched, as I have found it by simply googling "M4 TMPS Module Location" and reading one web forum. biggrin

https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2...

Hope that helps.

No, that doesn’t show where the unit is located. BMW keep locating them in different places on different cars. Not one search has come up with where it is fitted on a M4. It’s a physical device (RDC module) located in the boot, or under the rear bumper or under the car.

Ok.... it specifically says that the DSC module handles the TMPS. Sensors in the tyres relay info to the wheel arch receivers.
Further research shows this is the case for cars after 04/2014.

If that is not the case then I would recommend speaking to a BMW dealer to advise.

Ok, looks like what I need to find is the remote control receiver box location to check the connections for corrosion.

Believe it or not, I’ve still not found it. It’s not where has been suggested, or in the photos. Anyone know where it is!
Often called the RDC Antenna and looks like a USB dongle, it’s not under the rear of the car or in the right of the bool well. Now urgent as it’s an MOT fail!

Go to a dealership because the information which I provided, then you dismissed, then someone else confrimed, which is correct (who you thanked, but not me).

There are sensors in each wheel arch. And then wiring back to the unit in the rear. Also confirmed on RealOEM.

Won't be that expensive at a dealer. Have fun.

I do appreciate your help, but still no one has pointed me to the location of the receiver. I’m trying to avoid using BMW service due to numerous past bad experiences. Research has pointed me to this unit that is prone to corrosion and can be fixed, but the location appears to keep getting moved, in the boot above the battery, under the tray either side towards the front wheel arches, under the boot floor etc. But as yet I can’t find it. I can’t believe nobody else has had this problem on a M4 and knows where it is!

I've just told you!!! Each TMPS sensor in the wheel speaks to a receiver in each wheel well. Then, this links back to the module in the boot!

I don't know how much more clear I can be!

Otherwise, stop cutting your nose to spite your face and go to BMW.

Hey, don’t bother with any more help, you don’t need to keep telling me what I already know, if you don’t know where the RDC Ariel is exactly you’re not helping. Because “in the boot”? Not when I looked.

I just read this morning on a F80 forum that it's tucked in behind the rear bumper - taking the bumper off is straightforward (screws underneath/screws in the wheelarch/under the rear lights (which need to come out)). As you say, they keep changing the location of it.

I’m currently looking under the car, removing panels under the front seats, where others have suggested. Rear bumper next. This is getting crazy. 🙄

If you have blind spot assist, those sensors are also behind the rear bumper - don't get too excited when you take the bumper off & find them!!!!

Don't worry, I won't. Even though I've told you exactly where they are multiple times.

You are obviously incapable of finding it, but you obviously don't want to pay someone else to do it either.

Good luck.
