E93 V8 Starting noise ?

BMW E92 V8

When starting first thing , a cold engine , it fires straight away , no knocks or anything untoward.
The engine revs to around 1400 RPM , and the exhaust is rather loud.

Two minutes later the RPM drops to 700 RPM and everything is sweet and quite.
I am thinking this is a choke process on initial starting.

Am I correct ???
Anything to worry about ??

Completely normal, it is to heat up the catalytic converter quickly. It can be coded out, which may be useful especially if you have an aftermarket exhaust or the 2 pipe mod, as it avoids the loud part (glorious as it is)
