Thoughts on this E92 M3 - worth it?
Discussion
Just seen this come up in my search.
Looks stunning but it's a little more miles than I'd been looking for.
That said it would be just a weekend car for the wife and will soon even out as she tends to keep cars forever
Thoughts of the masses?

Have I stepped back to the Middle Ages, referred to the masses by a Lord Looks stunning but it's a little more miles than I'd been looking for.

Does look nice and Individual Audio sounds amazing, if that's your thing and if that's relevant on a weekend car, which I presume is more about hooning and hearing the v8.
It's not a bad price and it's a plus that discs/pads are done, but in addition to the new rears, or maybe a full set if you're preferred type of tyre isn't on the front, there (unless I've missed it) is no mention of actuators or rod bearings done. Worth considering, the former more usually seem to go ; I've heard quotes closer to 400£ and rod bearings £1400, not necessarily the concern the internet implies but I'd consider doing them on a 85k miler with no warranty.
So you could be adding circa £2.5k to the price. I'm pretty sure lowers AUC car is presently over circa £20k so there's daylight.
With 5 owners, definitely make sure the service history is pukka, most say it's full and sadly I've seen gaps.
And I thought it weird that he goes to the effort of a video and we don't hear the V8. If it's far to travel get a video of starts, idling etc.
That's a tremendous spec - the Individual Audio is truly excellent once tweaked.
EDC isn't essential imho, but is quite effective and it can also be mapped to the Competition Pack settings.
Obviously it doesn't have the LCI iDrive but for that money (and the fact it's a weekend car) I wouldn't be too bothered.
I'd want to know whether the throttle actuators had been done, and if he's had an oil analysis carried out.
If it didn't work out for you, I don't think you'd have any problems shifting it on with that spec.
Worth investing in a £30 code reader before viewing it?

Paint would be my main concern if everything is in order technically, especially on a car of this colour. I'm not saying it has had any (apart from the 'front end respray' referred to in the ad) but there's a few angles that I'd check out, particularly on the drivers side door & rear panel.
Thanks for opinions guys.
I've spoken to seller and hes a real petrolhead
I'm taking the wife to view this afternoon as she's 'not 100% on the colour' ffs!!
I've got an e92 m3 manual myself so I'll soon suss out if it's a good un
Apparently actuators done with receipt but he was told when he bought it that shells were done but has no proof. Seems a stand up guy and is happy to negotiate but wont until I e viewed.
Fair enough...I'll let you know what happens after 1500hrs

Update!
Well we didn't buy it but it was not because of the car - the wife just didn't like the colour! It was too blue apparently
Anyway the car is an absolute peach it really is. Very quiet, extremely well looked after and mint.
Seller was a gent and couldn't be more helpful - I felt bad not buying it but I was upfront before we viewed telling him the wife needed to see the colour.
I was sorely tempted to buy it in the hope she'd warm to it but obviously that would have been a bit daft.
So if anyone is tempted by it then it's deffo worth the trouble to view and between us I know he's accept close to 14500 as that's what a trader has offered him.

That's a shame.
Does she have a preference for a particular colour? Swirlmark Schwartz? Marmite Alpine White?
The SSII blue is very common but wears well. A lot of the darker hues I looked at tended to show their age somewhat. I do think the dark blue looks great with either colour of wheel but I imagine she'd like that even less?

Your wife has good taste
I've never liked Silverstone Blue either, it is neither Blue or Silver so it gets lost in no mans land in the middle for me.
Funny how colours divide opinion.

After having only black cars since I bought my first car in 1995, we’ve just got a SS M3.
I actually disliked the F80 M3 in black. SS or grey were the only colours I considered, which given my history with black cars surprised me.
At least you know the car is for you, the right colour will pop up soon.
