On the way to my dealer this morning (in the pouring rain) to have the new security updates installed, i got this message and a whole lot of warning lights on the dash!

The fault wouldnt reset at the dealership so its booked in for some investigation work. Ive read about ABS sensor failure, steering angle sensor failure and diff failure but i was wondering if any of you guys have seen this?

Yes, I had this a few months back, various other errors cropped up soon after including reduced drive mode. Off the top of my head I think I ended up with a throttle body replaced and a couple of other related bits fixed.

Got this as well now so im assuming there's water ingress in a brake sensor or something. Bloody weather! I'll find out in a week or so when i take it to the dealers. The car feels fine however, just lost the driver aids the bad weather may call the car to need!

Seems the gremlins have got you too Eddie! I am now away again for a week so god knows what I am going to come back to when I get home! Good luck with this one.

Had something similar in my 6 series. A new alternator cured the problem. HTH.

Had the same error too when I needed a new throttle body, IIRC it took Sytner's a couple of days to finally track the problem down.

Yeah, ive seen these culprits talked about:

Battery,
Alternator,
Software,
Throttle body,
Throttle Actuators,
ABS and braking sensors (M5 has dry braking function where the callipers massage the discs to keep them dry if the rain sensor on the windscreen detects rain - fancy!!),
Steering Angle Sensor (M5 / M6 not affected as they dont have assisted steering),

And may others! Hopefully it'll be quick to sort and once again im thankful for my warranty!

Had to take the barge to work today and as it was dry i thought i'd see if the M-button still works and the limiter is the same. Seems all is fine and i have full power and normal limiter. Traction control still feels like its working and the braking feels normal even under heavy load. Still got the fault codes though so the car is still going in on saturday!

Mine would have faults that cleared and then returned. Sounds just like yours.
