I did reply to him. Literally, as you say. Using words.
The meaning of my post was more about the fact the car has been out for a few weeks and lots of people on here were bragging about being top of their dealer’s list for delivery so I’m wondering if there’s anyone who has any sensible experience and knowledge to share. Other than the guy who knows nothing about the car and bought it to rent out anyway.
I’m very interested in how real people are getting on with the car in the real world because I might buy one next year.
This thread was busy and full of opinion right up to the point the car was released.
Hope that helps.
You may find this informative - I reckon the RS6 and M3 Touring, one used and the other new, make for an interesting comparison. The meaning of my post was more about the fact the car has been out for a few weeks and lots of people on here were bragging about being top of their dealer’s list for delivery so I’m wondering if there’s anyone who has any sensible experience and knowledge to share. Agree, of course the age old "new vs used" comparison but in this case relevant with the delivery times quoted for the M3T - can't believe how cheap an RS6 is in the UK (in Belgium the cheapest are around the €120k mark).https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKdphXpgHPk

I was looking back on the paperwork... the "2022" OTR price for this was 80K, but its worth saying that the UK base car comes very well specced for that. This year its gone up to 86K, with the BMW finance APR also going up by 2%.
Are other cars from BMW seeing similar increases or is this just happening to their new models and those range toppers which are in constrained supply?

Mugs game paying those prices. Car prices and finance costs have got out of sync. Big depreciation and discounts inbound Are other cars from BMW seeing similar increases or is this just happening to their new models and those range toppers which are in constrained supply?

If anyone is after a private plate for their M3T send me a PM, I have one available which is a bit of light humour regarding the front end.
Come on don't just leave it there? Has to be beaver or capybara related??RTPT said:

Happy New Car day anyone?....
Is it just the one car delivered on this thread so far?Mine has been assembled now and should be here by the end of March apparently.
Then it became apparent that a large proportion of those VIPs decided they didn’t want to spend any actual money because they were suddenly far more sensible than anyone who was going to buy the car in real life because suddenly the car was far too expensive.
But the bit I am surprised about is that among all the VIPs and the liars, there’s only one delivery. And he’s gone quiet too because the running in service didn’t remap the car.

Exactly. I don’t want to sound snarky (honestly) but it felt like there were dozens of people on this thread who were delighted to tell us that their dealer was “looking after them” and they were guaranteed to get one of the first cars available in the country.

I'm still here. Still loving it at 2k miles now. I understood it was a different map at RIS, as that's what the Internet said. All they did was raise the rev limiter. I've not gone sulky or anything as I stated something that was wrong. I'm more miffed now at just spending £160 on genuine rubber mats! Then it became apparent that a large proportion of those VIPs decided they didn’t want to spend any actual money because they were suddenly far more sensible than anyone who was going to buy the car in real life because suddenly the car was far too expensive.

It's a great package, I had a brisk drive back from the west country today, licence compromising speeds come up very quickly indeed. Country road overtakes are laugh inducing.
I had the original oil analysed after 1300 miles, just before it went in for RIS;
Not as much stuff in there as I was expecting. I was expecting to see higher levels of Chromium, copper & lead. Just some Iron. High levels of Calcium, phosphorus & zinc, but I'm sure they're only additives. That analysis doesn't show much material deposited during running in at all.
There's lower levels of all materials than I got from a VW EA888 engine in a Golf R at the same point. I wasn't expecting that to deposit much at run in, but it did.

What is the process for this analysis - how much do you send off? What company and do they tell you what or if anything to worry about? Not as much stuff in there as I was expecting. I mean your not wrong, it has gone a little quite... they can't all be doing the NC 500 to run it in.Then it became apparent that a large proportion of those VIPs decided they didn’t want to spend any actual money because they were suddenly far more sensible than anyone who was going to buy the car in real life because suddenly the car was far too expensive.

I didn't notice the rev limiter increase on mine , the internet does lie though, no more power Certainly feels like my engine loosened up a bit after about 3000 miles though

I don't have my allocated one as it hasn't turned up at the dealers yet.
Neither has the other 2 they were allocated.
No big issue for me, strange its an issue for others.
