re tyre shortage :
Jumped in my car last night and 'bong' warning loss of pressure front offside tyre - completely flat, usual builders screw nicely located inside tread pattern, so of course 'unrepairable'.
quick search on Blackcircles showed availability for front 275/35 R20 Michelin pilot sport 4S, couple of days notice delivery, but i didn't order because they don't supply my local trusted tyre fitter and i wanted to see if they could source a replacement, which they can (another £35 admittedly) delivery within today - so i assume Michelin have made another batch - £325 though.....
costly business, other peoples carelessness
Are you replacing just the one tyre, or both?Jumped in my car last night and 'bong' warning loss of pressure front offside tyre - completely flat, usual builders screw nicely located inside tread pattern, so of course 'unrepairable'.

Remember that the difference in thread across the axle should be very limited, as well as between axles.

True story bro, when I changed my fronts they are so wide that the fitter assumed it was the rear tyre! Fortunately he made a point of asking first.Jumped in my car last night and 'bong' warning loss of pressure front offside tyre - completely flat, usual builders screw nicely located inside tread pattern, so of course 'unrepairable'.

I’m looking to get back to an M5, but can I just ask what’s going on with insurance?
I have a clean history, no claims, maximum NCD, and being quoted thousands for an M5 Comp……four grand odd is the lowest!!!!
For context, I pay £485 for a 2018 Carrera GTS!!
Not sure why your being quoted that high, could it be the Post Code?.I have a clean history, no claims, maximum NCD, and being quoted thousands for an M5 Comp……four grand odd is the lowest!!!!

Just keep punting around it will come down as these cars are rarely stolen.
RM1, nice area!
I’ve insured lots of nice cars, no problem.
I can insure a Quadrifoglio for £585, a turbo S for £857, so WTF is going on with the M5?
I will try Keith Michaels tomorrow, but there is no way I’ll be paying several grand - I’m 58, with no claims ever, other than a new windscreen in 2021…..clean licence too!

No joy whatsoever!
Apparently the M5 is approaching the same level as Range Rovers, which seem to be uninsurable!!!
I’m pretty shocked by what I’ve found out, just wonder if anyone on here has renewed recently at a reasonable rate?

Fully comp upgraded courtesy Car should I need one.
Have my eye on one of these for my next car, and ran some insurance quotes - so the messages above are quite topical.
I'm seeing around £1200, which is £500 more than my current F10.
It's a lot more expensive (although arguably a lot safer!) but I'm not sure if £500 is a fair bump or not.

The premiums are laughable and will cause a lot of folk to get out of M-cars.
I refuse to be shafted and so will stay away from BMW.
Interestingly, my wife (older bird with no claims, clean licence) has had a renewal offer of £1100 for her 2020 M135i, double the previous one.
We’re being hammered from all directions, are we?
