Had a quick look at my new car the dealers today...........

OMG yikes

Donnington Grey looks great in the flesh and I’ve had black grills fitted..........yes I know, but I promise I’m not trying to be a CP, simply the look is so much better IMO wink

Picking it up Friday - what a great Birthday present!

Edited to add.........

It’s on Michelin’s, not Pirelli’s biggrin

Two sleeps......... cloud9

Well, picked the car up this morning...............

My god cloud9 what a machine yes

The interior is in a different league to my last F10 M5, the materials being of much higher quality and leather everywhere which is lovely.

Obviously not given it any beans yet, 100 miles and driven lightly rather than like a knob hehe

I’m really happy with the colour and it suits the car really well and I think the black grills are a good addition yes

Utterly bloody brilliantly day biggrin

Congratulation on the new car, it looks stunning by far the best colour.
Enjoy it in good health.

Congrats! Looks superb.

I had my first proper look at an F90 M5 at my local dealer this week and 'the want' is strong indeed. I totally agree with you on the interior, it is very special and absolutely top-notch to the touch and to look at.

Congratulations and happy birthday (same day as my birthday!) I am a couple of months into ownership of my DG M5 and must say it is a great car.

Just got back from a trip into town and found this:

Right across the rear bottom right hand corner of the bumper.

There has to be a special place in hell for people who hit your car and don't leave their details. Its 2 weeks old for gods sake...………….. So now I either suck up the most likely huge repair costs or lose my 15 years NCB. Either way someone is a scumbag and its going to cost me a fortune!!

Sorry to see this frown

I had a very similar problem with my F80 M3 and I'm afraid that'll be a full new bumper. They come unpainted from BMW and cover quite a bit of surface area - for Sapphire Black including bumper and fitment I was looking at around 2.3k

Sorry to read that... you just be gutted! Some people are so selfish. I had the same on my F10 - I found a local body shop that did excellent work and a few hundred quid later you would never have known. But to happen after just 2 weeks is terrible. Good luck getting it sorted.

Really sorry and what a st day frown

I went to my best friends funeral some years go and whilst I was there a scrote went down the side of my F10 M5 and I had that fixed for about £800 plus VAT.

I would have thought a good body shop will have that done for under a thousand yes

Thanks for the words of support chaps!

Its always a bad day when someone taints your shiny pride and joy, no one should ever mess with another mans motor!! Bugs me that just because of someone's scumbaggieness I have to shell out a serious amount of money...…….

Never mind, still a superb piece of kit and anyone who has one coming has a real treat in store!!

Glad you’re over the shock now!

I never park in public places and only fill up with someone standing by my car to guard it , or when I can park between pumps!

On the positive side, that first-damage experience is out of the way, with the car being made perfect again.....it’s like a bonding experience, much like making up with a new girlfriend after the first bust up!

Wow, you parked with only the right side facing the disabled space. Worth seeing if any CCTV around ?

On a better note, superb looking M5, hope it brings back the smiles...

My god, I just gave the car some throttle (not too much, I’ve only done 250 miles!) and it left a junction locally in damp conditions as if it were trying to take off yikes

Up to 6k revs really, really quickly which I’m sure won’t do the engine any harm........what a machine yes

And that sports exhaust and it’s crackles...... cloud9

That is super addictive! I decided to ignore any kind of running in period, the guy at BMW did t mention it so can’t be a real thing!

Hello
I am currently driving a 530d x drive mainly, and am thinking of an M5.

Would those who have driven one recommend a Competition one, or a regular one with Carbon brakes?

Also are there any options that people consider essential.

I see most who have a new one have also had an F10 version; do you think the new auto gearbox is a good idea in an M5?
In my F10 version, I found the DCT good but not brilliant.

Thanks in advance.
