Second interview assistance?
Discussion
Having a career in which I spent over half of my working life in one organisation. I'm faced with a second interview, apparently I aced the first according to the recruitment consultant and a lady in HR who phoned to explain a delay in the decision making process.
So I've been invited for a second. The first was based around competencies (who, how, why examples). Plus the standard strengths, weakness, what can I bring to the company etc.
The next interview is with the Director of HR and my Line Manager. Can I expect the same questions over again, but with more detailed answers?
Any help appreciated and decent website for tips...

First thing to do is ask your recruitment consultant. If he's placed people with this company before he should know, and even if he hasn't he should be able to find out some basic info.
Most interviews do take this format, and I would often expect a second to be a bit more probing in certain areas. The rule of thumb in one company I worked at, was that the first interview is about looking for a reason to hire you and the second is about looking for a reason not to.
So typically the manager would complete the first interview, speak to his director and say something like "really liked f13ldy, good attitude, knows her stuff, not sure how motivated she is." The second interview with the director would then cover the same areas but would probe much deeper into how motivated you are, what motivates you, and whether or not you will stay motivated once in the job.
Not questioning your motivation by the way, just an example!
But again, every company and indeed every interviewer is different so do make sure to get all the information you can from the recruitment consultant and from anyone else who might know.
