Hi - Im currently working as a senior support engineer for a large media company but I have also been packaging their applications to be rolled out via zenworks etc etc.

Im not being paid any more for it and from what I've seen, application packagers get paid very well - certainly over £30k.

Anyone have any ideas what I should say if anything? Just think its a bit off that Im doing my support work aswell as packaging for the same money or am I just being greedy? biggrin

Nope. Selling yourself short wont help you. But on the other hand going out of your way to help your company may not hurt in the long term you need to find the balance between whether it will benefit you being quiet and getting recognition in the long term or demanding a pay rise or compo as it were.

Packing applications properly is also an art, anyone can cut a package, but can you package multiple java versions in different packages and have them all work? Will the packages uninstall cleanly etc. Or do they rerun MSI each time you run them because something isnt right?

The role is probably worth anything from £15k through to £70k depending on skill and ability, plus what your employer values it at. Some have no clue what a jobs worth until they have to pay market rates for it.
