Hi all, need help regarding part timers overtime rights/laws.
I am contracted to do 18 hours a week for a supermarket.
Earlier in the week I agreed to work Sunday (not my contracted day). But now circumstances have changed and I no longer want to work sunday. My manager says I HAVE to work it as it is in the system??? I can understand if I swapped shifts with someone, but this is 'on-top' of what I already do.
I always thought I am allowed to do this, and have done it before in the past with old managers.
Opinions anyone?

At the supermarket I used to work in, any agreed overtime was contractual. I was a CSM at Sainsbury's, and I certainly disciplined colleagues for not turning up to overtime shifts - the view I took was it was only my "mess/job/lack of staffs" if I failed to organise appropriate shift cover. By agreeing to overtime you have upped his staffing to a (presumably) appropriate level; you wouldn't expect to take holiday with less than 2 days notice, would you?
However, I do not know if this was law or part of the employment conditions, so if you are in a different supermarket it may be different (I doubt it though).
