Hi All,

I would like to get into learning how to map/tune tune engines via programmable ignitions (e.g. Motec, autronics, DTA etc), build looms etc.

Are there any tuners here? how did you get into it? Are there any books you would recommend to get started?

Thanks

hi ya,
i currently fit emerald ecu's. and make complete looms. emerald have a book all about mapping which is meant to be very good. i learned about looms by making them for my own cars, although i do leave the mapping to dave. i would stay away from the cheap makes, like m*ga sc**rt and others as the software is crap.
may be best to buy and fit one (any ecu) to your own car and then play about with it, to learn the software and see what things do and how the wiring goes. (only if you dont mind damaging the engine) as can easily happen.

Almost all the mappers i know started by fitting a system to their own cars and learning it from there.
