work experience needed- HELP

Hey, I am looking for a bit of advice on looking for some work experience. I am at a 6th form college and am studying maths, physics and graphic design fo upper 6th. I am looking for some work experience either rebuilding cars or engines and preferably tuning them up too. I want to go on to do motorsport engineering and design at uni and am really motivated about the world of cars and bikes. any help welcomed with an open mind. need experience in cheshire preferably in the knutsford/northwich area. thanks.
