We are looking for a Web Designer to work with the other enthusiastic members of our small web team to support the design and development of sites for our wide range of clients. The industries our clients cover is diverse and therefore require widely differing web solutions and designs to support their businesses. It will be your role to support the development and implementation of appropriate interface designs.

With a few years’ commercial web development and design experience under your belt, you will not only be encouraged but expected to share your opinions and ideas with the rest of the motivated web team to improve the quality of output.

Key responsibilities:
• Take part in meetings to give design guidance where required
• Present ideas and visual concepts during various stages of the design process
• Convert Photoshop designs into valid XHTML/CSS layouts
• Follow best practice in web design, standards, usability and accessibility
• Design newsletter templates, advertising banners and other non-web graphical elements when needed
• Share design knowledge within the team

Required skills:
• Sound understanding of web design
• HTML / XHTML,
• CSS
• JavaScript
• Understanding of templating based CMS systems
• Standard design software

Desirable skills:
• Flash
• Some knowledge of PHP is advantageous
• Interpersonal and organisational skills
• Ability to communicate at all levels
• Determination and persistence
• Eye for quality and attention to detail
• Proactive and able to manage time
