LFW: IT Graduate Advice Please!

I am coming to the end of my BSc Informatics degree and am about to start looking for work.

I have experience(placement year) of working as an Information Systems Analyst / Project Manager, and I would like to find a job that offers good career opportunities, along with a substantial salary.

I am looking for a position in the IT field but as I have 11 years experience(I am 32 years old) of running my own business(retail outlet) I would prefer to follow a business oriented pathway.

I am willing to commit my time and efforts to a lucrative career, but knowing that there are no guarantees from employers; I am asking if any of you have followed a similar career path and become successful!

Can anyone suggest what jobs are around, where in the country they are likely to be, and whether any fast-track approaches would be viable?
