I have reached the end of the redundancy process and got canned this morning, as mentioned in a previous thread the package is legal minimum.

The company has taken onboard the pain this will cause affected people as several have less than 2 years in, to mitigate this they have put together a settlement agreement for a sum.

Now having seen sight of the actual document, they want it signed or not by the 6th November, as it is a settlement agreement there is a sum available for legal help. What I wasn't expecting was I cannot just sign this without actually having a legal person look at it and sign to say they have.

I am not sure if I can find someone who can respond that quickly, provide any advice and necessary signature so I am hoping someone can advise or help.

Any help appreciated.

I saw your other thread a few weeks ago. Is there any enhancement in exchange for your signing the Settlement Agreement?

I used these for mine. https://www.settlementagreement.com/

They were OK, if not amazing but it did the trick.

This is required as you’re essentially signing away some rights in exchange for money.
It’s in their interest that you can have appropriate advice, complete by that date seems rather aggressive and unlikely to happen. Have they suggested a firm that’s lined up?

About half a months take home, I am wondering if it is worth the hassle and maybe submitting a detailed GDPR Subject Access Request might be more fun.

I used this guy as did many of my colleagues he was able to work within quite a tight budget the company paid £600 incl vat.

We didn’t challenge the amount as I found my employer generous in letting me stay until two years was up and giving me a decent whack.

We turned this around within 3 days, it’s suspicious how quick they demand these replies isn’t it. Anyway best of luck

They aren't interested in helping.

The figure I was offered was about 4-5months salary including bonuses they threw in. He described that as middle of the road.

That is really helpful, thank you especially as the budget constraint is the same.

6 months salary, they'll have a heart attack. We already have Americans running the process for UK redundancies so you can imagine what it has been like.

We have been excluded from the short term incentive plan (says that in the contract) but still 25% of salary bonus.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this and the other thread, I now have someone looking at the agreement.

PH has been enormous help and it is very much appreciated.

For two weeks salary I’d have no interest in signing.

I don’t quite understand: why would they pay more than statutory (or contractual) amounts? If you are leaving, what’s the driver to pay you more?

Because you go quietly and without the usual redundancy process. You also sign away your rights to take them to an employment tribunal.

This. It wraps things up neatly.

The OP states that he's already been through the redundancy process and been informed that he's being made redundant and also several people have less than 2 years service so it does seem odd that they're "sweetening" the process.

Small cost to prevent any comeback from ex employees. It's done routinely in many (most?) businesses.
