My late wife was dismissed from tesco while shielding during the pandemic but sadly passed away a few months after being dismissed when she went into hospital and was diagnosed with breast cancer and died 2 weeks later. I know this was nearly 3 years ago but I've only just started coming to terms with her death. Is there anything I can do now . many thanks

Sorry for your loss,

Why do you think the dismissal was wrongful?

Just to add, I don't think there is anything you can do now, the time limit for an unfair dismissal is normally 3 months less 1 day.

And I would doubt if it could be made by anyone other than the person dismissed

Wrongful because Boris Johnson clearly stated in his soap box speeches that no body could be sacked whilst immune surpressed and shielding and my wife was dismissed over the telephone whilst shielding

She also got a plaque and a letter from tesco ceo welcoming her to retirement as a tesco employee around 4 weeks before she passed away. Why did this happen when her termination letter clearly states that she was dismissed because of her poor attendance record through illness. We had been fighting for early retirement through I'll health for a year or so but they said her ailments could get better. She had 3 prolapse discs and arthritis I'm her back that turned out to be bone cancer caused by terminal breast cancer undected because of nhs negligence
