Is it worth doing FGas & Heat Pump course?
Discussion
I am currently an industrial maintenance technician, working for a large company, repairing and maintaining MHE, plant, a little bit of robotics and some facilities maintenance too. I am getting quite bored with my job and looking for a change, ideally, something I could start a business doing once I have some experience under my belt!
I have seen a course by Ellis Training in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning & Heat Pump Systems. At the end you are fully qualified in Fgas, as well as a City & Guilds in Split Air Conditioning System Installation & Commissioning, and a City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning & Heat Pump Systems. Does anyone know much about the course? Would it be worth doing? The course is 3 weeks, so can get some leave from work to do it, and it's probably about £5000, which is fine.
I already have my Level 3 NVQ in Aeronautical Engineering, 18th Editon Wiring Regs, IOSH Managing Safely, etc...

I did the fgas and AC split course with them last year.
My background was domestic and commercial gas, mainly service and fault finding. I dropped the gas 10 year back and now just electrical, controls, BMS and large scale energy storage.
I wanted some AC at home and looking at some additional income outside my day job for which it was absolutely ideal. Will it turn you into a fridge expert in 2 weeks? ... No it won't.
If you are looking at installing AC splits or multi splits it will give you everything you need assuming you've the practical skills in your current role to wire them up, drill holes etc.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them, doubt there is anyone in the Fridge who hasn't heard of John.
