Sounds like it, should probably go with it, you'll have a better feel for both options than any of us and the level of risk you're comfortable with.

20% salary doesn't seem like a very big gap to me versus a potentially significant windfall at all. That said, 1% equity doesn't seem huge if you're in that early, 5 years is a long way out and such timelines are usually ambitious at best.
