Not really looking for advice, just wondered if others found themselves in a similar position, however if anyone does have any words of wisdom, I am all ears.

I have never been strong in maths, business maths I was fine with but the more complex stuff, not brilliant, but got through an IT degree, covered various bits of maths to including statistics, got bookkeeping qualifications.

Decided to go back and do a short 6 month course at uni, not been in school since the 90s, had to take a entrance exam, I could remember non of the things I learnt all these years ago, I couldn't even remember the meaning of some of the phrases so couldn't understand the questions frown

I'm fine with the really complicated stuff. Throw some Standard Deviation my way and I'm fine. But ask me to do the scores at Darts down the pub and I'm counting fingers I don't have. The times table?.... well, I can remember the tune!

Good on you for going back to learn though. Maths is a very worthwhile skill.

Many local authorities are running Multiply Courses - free maths courses for adults. Part of the government's plan to increase numeracy skills amongst adults. Half of all adults lack basic mathematical skills. I've made some promo films for these for one local authority so spent time in some of the classes and they're really rather good.

There’s a Maths learning software that many schools use for teaching children multiplication and division. It’s called ‘TT Rockstars’ and it’s really good. It’s something that you might find useful?

There’s videos of it on YouTube which will give you an idea of what it’s like.
