Resigned from work
Discussion
Finally handed it in today. I was offered a new job end of April and have just arranged the start date today after waiting on background checks. To say it's a relief is an understatement. I've been at the current place just over five years and its got worse and worse. I've waited almost a year for some crucial equipment and they still haven't sorted it out. Yet when they ask for help that requires it and I have to say no because it isn't there, they're questioning why!!! I've got a supervisor who blames every thing on every one else for his screw ups, takes all the credit, doesn't listen anything you say and forgets everything. It's so frustrating. Glad to be out of that hole at long last.
There's not much point to my post, I'm just venting.

Sounds like the right decision though. Best of luck.
Thanks. I'll be on more money, less hours, its half of the distance to get there, flexi time, work from home option, better pension etc etc. Can't wait!Last day today. Have got out at precisely the right time as the company who has taken over the contract haven't got a clue what is going on and do not answer to emails and any problems that arise. They've grabbed the money and basically left everyone in the lurch. There's 80 uncovered shifts between now and December and despite myself and another member of the team leaving, they're not recruiting anyone else. The mind boggles what the hell is going on here. 17:30 and I turn my back on the place never to be seen again. 15 days off then I will start the new job which I'm really looking forward to.

Congratulations OP but wouldn't it have been better to work until the end of the month so you got your bank holiday paid?
Thanks. No as it was never one of my working days. If you don't work, you don't get paid. Technically my last day is Sunday 3rd of September but I booked holiday before I got offered the new job so it all tied in nicely. Terminator X said:
Without fail every time I have moved jobs the new one was vastly better. If you have been at the old one for a while imho you get treated worse than new staff which is bizarre on the basis that it's cheaper to retain staff then get in new ones.
TX.
Honestly, I just got frustrated with it all. How about a fire alarm panel that doesn't receive a signal from two of the buildings during testing? And one of them has been like it since I've been there, over five years ago. TX.

Same here.TX.
One of the great things is it's a big reset. Stuff that's been dragging, or people you don't get on with etc all just disappear. You have a chance to start fresh with no baggage.
I have never regretted a move. In fact looking back I regret not moving more.
