Working in Hong Kong/Singapore - what's available?

Anyone over there/been over there?

Whilst those in corporate law, banking or maybe logistics for example could have quite an easy route to getting out there through relocation/secondment of whatever, is there much demand in general for a UK salesman ?

My firm has offices in HK but no position/need for a UK guy there. Any ideas about a potential route out there for a salesperson? Currently in manufacturing/industrial supply.

How have others in similar careers got out there?

I love Singapore, we nearly emigrated there about 10 years ago, might still go at some point.

Quite a few family members settling there, work ethic is hard but you get rewarded in return. If your skill set is deemed to be 'indemand' (Healthcare is almost always in demand), you can command some very nice reward packages that usually include housing, lots of world leading international schools too so childcare is pretty much sorted.

Biggest turn-off for me is the weather, too hot/humid for us, if the climate was more European like we wouldn't be in the UK right now.
