Israel Tech Start up…
Discussion
Anyone ever worked for a Israel based company before? It is a Tech Start up looking to expand in the UK. I would be in a sales type role. What are Israelis like to work for?
The only red flag so far is they have rearranged the interview twice already, i was even prepared to do the interview on a Sunday morning due to their work week being Sunday to Thursday.

I think I’d rather work for any other nationality tbh.
Fast talking, exceptionally ‘to the point’, no off switch - all things I’d say I’ve seen in dealing with Israeli firms. A mate of mine just started at one a few weeks ago. Before they then fired the whole team
I’ve interviewed at a few and I haven’t ever warmed to them. PM if you want, I’ve been in the space a fair time and may have some insight if I know them.

I have heard its due to their time doing national service which makes them quite hard to deal with.
When i sent a semi sternly worded email back to the recruiter when the second interview was postponed airing my annoyance i was met with an equally direct response with a very thinly vailed apology.

They are very direct to deal with.
Sometimes it comes across as aggressive, but in some cases it’s quite refreshing.
I used to sell a service with a 1 year sales cycle which involved getting hundreds of people on board. I then visited an Israeli company, and by the end of the first meeting we were negotiating prices and start dates on the whiteboard.
If you are very thick skinned and happy to work in an office culture like a warzone then it could work. I actually prefer people who are to the point rather than politics and the silly charades we play in UK corporate culture.

Yeah i am quite direct myself so maybe it would not be such a culture shock, I would also wonder if social justice virtue signaling would be less prominent in a Israel based company.
Have worked for a Nordic based company before and i would agree very enjoyable people to get along with.

I've had meetings out there in meeting rooms with NBC filtration units in the corner that would kick in in the event of someone chucking some sort of dirty bomb from the West Bank into Tel Aviv, so arguably not too surprising given the environment they grow up in that they're pretty direct!
I did always enjoy working with them though.
