Ok so as part of my research into a potential opportunity I thought I’d tap in to the vast range of knowledge and expertise here:

The business I’ve been speaking to are based in the EU but have no legal entity based in the UK, so HMRC guidelines say it’s a wholly overseas entity and therefore the nature of the relationship is down to the individual. There are plans to set up a Uk entity but this doesn’t exist yet; once set up it is likely that my employment contract will be with this entity. that could take ~12-18 months to set up; there is equity and bonuses as part of the original package which might make it difficult to declare as outside IR35.

I am a UK resident with an Irish passport. I would mainly be working remotely i.e. from the UK but with regular travel to meet the clients and their clients..

I’m early in the thinking process, the Irish passport I assume gives me free access to work in the EU so no Visas, tax liability is a key consideration, but I was wondering what other things I need to consider/ do’s, don’t etc

Er…you have just massively over complicated a very simple thing.
Arrange your contract with them, sort any local work permits for wherever you will be based, register for the local tax, etc and off you go. Simples.

And yes, it really is that simple.
