If there are holiday lets then plenty folk coming and going certainly over the summer, and if the "harbour" there is as busy as it used to be with yotties it will not seem that isolated at all. Likely a bit grim in the winter though.
Technically it's not that remote as you are relatively close to the heaving metropolis of Portree as the crow flies - maybe 45 to 60 minutes in a RIB or dory depending on the weather.
There is also a naval contractor research base, or used to be, further north on the Island but it was certainly very much "off limits" when I used to sail up there.
The "harbour" is quite challenging to get into due to being hidden from view until you are very close - there was an arrow painted on a rock at one point to show you the way in, and a few submerged ones to watch out for.
