Hi all,

I was under the impression that once you reached State Pension age, you would no longer pay National Insurance.

Well due to incompetence in payroll, I am still paying NI some 2 months after reaching state pension age.
I did let the office know |I was turning 66 this birthday, and they already have copy of driving licence, and passport.

Not really a happy bunny, but hoping things will be rectified for next month.

However, will I be getting the NI payments back that I Paid for September and October ?

How is this returned to me .

About £600

Thanks

Have you told your employer you want to stop paying NI? Have you then given proof of age? Or have you provided the cert of age exemption, it used to look like a small appointment card.

Yes,
They have Dl and UK passport
About a month before turning 66, I have told them I shouldn't be paying NI thereafter.

On that case I'd get back onto Payroll case and make sure you get confirmation it will be applied in this coming payroll.
