Retrain / career change
Discussion
Hi all
Looking at career change opportunities that will be a bit more fulfilling and stimulating
Currently in a classic bullst large corporate role where paid well for doing pretty dull admin work.
Looking to find something that;
1. Requires some re-training/new learning to provide stimulation and act as a barrier to entry (don’t just want another generic type role that in reality anybody switched on could do)
2. Is a good area - in demand, potential to earn decent income
3. Doesn’t require years of re-training / degree level stuff as given age by the time I come out the other side I won’t be far off planning/thinking about semi retirement (I.e. pilot, lawyer, barrister would all be great but require too much retraining)
Looking at some areas of tech/software/IT as have a logical, analytical mind/background but don’t have too much knowledge.
Want to pick a good area to focus on as conscious there are lots of dead end roles (IT support ticks box 1 and 2 but not sure it’s as strong an area as it used to be)
Any pointers or experience shared much appreciated
