I saw this earlier on Facebook, I was suprised to see the relatively low entry criteria to be honest. £30k starting salary.

Many security service roles weight soft-skills beyond outright academic achievement.
As to the job in question, this may explain the context:

Interesting role.
I wonder how my wife would get on applying. She speaks some mandarin but is fluent in Cantonese, Bahasa, English and a regional Bahasa dialect. Doesn’t have a degree but has an amazing ear for languages! I wonder which is more important.
I would suggest it is worth a try.I wonder how my wife would get on applying. She speaks some mandarin but is fluent in Cantonese, Bahasa, English and a regional Bahasa dialect. Doesn’t have a degree but has an amazing ear for languages! I wonder which is more important.
A degree demonstrates your ability to learn but your wife can demonstrate the same by her ability to have learnt other languages.

She absolutely aced all of the tests, but never heard a pip back from them. I don’t think they are a desperate as they’re making out.

If by any chance she's not a UK national from birth then there's a chance she wouldn't meet the minimum security requirements. She absolutely aced all of the tests, but never heard a pip back from them. I don’t think they are a desperate as they’re making out.
