If an employer allows you to charge your Hybrid car at work for free, is that classed as BIK?

Thanks.

If it is a company car then no, if it is a private car then yes.

On that basis, should I be paying tax to charge my phone? 😀

Or plug in my laptop?
Or drink water from the business tap?
Or eat a biscuit or drink their tea?

I've always wondered this.

If I have a fuel allowance for my company car them I am taxed on it; I don't by the way, however if I take a ZOE home I always plug it in when back in work in the morning, so isn't that the same as having my petrol or diesel paid for?
