Not sure if its the right title ? How does a company stand if they become aware of a member of staff who is suffering from mental health issues and the med,s he has been given mean he shouldn't drive but he still drives to work ?
Think his doctor wanted to sign him off but he said no,can he be made to go on the sick for his own good ?
Trying to help the guy out for his own sake he really does need some help at the moment
Many thanks

Can you not request them to undertake a medical at a doctors of your choice? I would presume your insurance company would have something to say about it if you didnt.

The individual and his employer both have a duty to do what is right for their own safety and the safety of others, regardless of the context. If he won't personally address the issue but you know of the circumstances, you should inform your line manager of your concerns as soon as practicable. Good luck!

If it's just a case of shouldn't drive but is ok to work once he's there, then offer him a lift, or get someone else to, or a cab. However that really is his line manager's decision, all you can really do is let the manager know and offer any support to your colleague that you reasonably can.
