Graduate brother in law - options for commencing career

BIL grew up in rural Nottinghamshire and has enjoyed an active outdoor lifestyle with 3 siblings and a strong family surrounding him.
He studied sports science at a good university and achieved a strong 2:1.
Now back home and working part time at a local company as a maintenance / groundsman whilst pursuing a sports interest, the conversation of work keeps cropping up.
The recurring theme is that he doesn't want to 'work in an office' and that he would prefer an active job. Whilst I understand his reasons I do worry that he will miss out on some good opportunities because of this mindset.
Apart from the obvious archeology, geology, park ranger, environment agency or sports teacher roles, what could he apply for?
What about the oil industry? Gas? He's a physical guy, very intelligent but needs stimulation or he gets bored.

For pretty much all of the jobs suggested (apart from sports teacher), he's not qualified; most of those roles require a relevant degree.
Realistically, how good is he at his chosen sport?
If I were him I would be looking to see if any major sports/outdoor companies have graduate schemes, as he probably is qualified for those. He won't be outdoors as much as he would like, but then very few people are.
