UK Finance jobs - especially PE/RE

Hi gents
I currently live in Australia and work for a real estate private equity firm. Its always been a goal of mine to get some overseas experience and after 10 years with my current firm, and lots of promises, its just not going to happen. So I've been thinking about biting the bullet, packing my bags and having a go myself. I have an EU passport, so I believe visas aren't a problem for me.
I was wondering whether people can comment on the current state of the jobs market in the London area, and more specifically in the RE market. I'd also think about other European cities. However, language may be an impediment to getting a job? I speak Dutch and school level German.
My experience is in real estate funds management and asset management, across all classes (eg industrial, commercial, including development).
Appreciate any feedback and suggestions.
